Rio Grande wild turkeys and have made an amazing comeback since unregulated hunting in the 1800's greatly reduced their numbers.  Although not the "prettiest" of birds, one must appreciate their beautiful iridescent plumage, which continuously changes color depending on the angle of the sun!
